Ancient painting, Italian School (18th century) - Gallant scene

This is a wonderful 18th-century oil on canvas painting, dating back to the second half of the 18th century, depicting two figures in costume, probably two English kings. It can be described as a gallant scene.
In the background is the sea, while the two characters walk along a mountain path.
We don't know the meaning of the scene, but both the drawing and the colors are of excellent quality. The scene is set against what appears to be a sunset.

The frame, dating back to the late 1700s, is contemporary with the painting and is made of wood and plaster. It is in perfect condition. It is a precious object measuring 103cm x 82cm including the frame. Without the frame, it measures 60cm x 81cm.
