Paul Thomas (1859-1910) - Interior scene with singing friars

A delightful and original oil on canvas depicting singing monks. This painting, which does not have an original frame, measures 31cm x 41cm without the frame, and 47cm x 56cm with the frame. It is attributed to Paul Thomas, whose interiors are also exhibited at the Musée d'Orsay. The painting shares many of the French master's characteristics and is undoubtedly a valuable work.

The painting bears an ancient inscription on the back "Paul Thomas".

There is a signature on the back, on the frame.

The painting belongs to the Romantic movement, and therefore to the 1860s.

It has no restorations or retouching and is on its first canvas. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery.
