This is a painting created and signed by Fabio Fabbi, a distinguished painter who lived in Italy between the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th. In 1878, under the guidance of the master Augusto Rivalta, he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, receiving the silver medal for life sculpture in 1880. From 1883, he began to frequent the artists' circle of Florence.

In 1886, together with his older brother Alberto (1858-1906), Fabbi undertook a trip to Alexandria, Egypt. This unique experience marked a turning point in the artist's career, leading him to abandon sculpture. He participated in various international exhibitions, particularly in Munich. His painting "Ecce Homo" won him a prize in the 1899 "Head of Christ" competition. He dedicated many works to two cities, particularly Paris and Bologna. He also worked as an illustrator for important literary works such as Little Men and Little Women.
He is undoubtedly the most studied artist of nineteenth-century Bologna.

The work for sale measures 46cmx40cm including the early twentieth-century frame, and 30cmx24cm without it.
The painting is an oil on canvas. There is an archive dedicated solely to this Bolognese artist, where public exhibitions are still held, and whose works are displayed in many museums around the world, certainly including the Museo Ottocento Bologna.
It is crafted with great attention to detail; the colors, the presence of these oriental girls, the typical courtyard already depicted in other works by Fabbi, and the Persian carpets make it a work undoubtedly attributable to the great Bolognese artist.

The work is in excellent condition.
This artist's works command very high auction prices. The current record for a work by Fabio Fabbi is €334,720, achieved in 2009 with Dance in the Harem, an oil painting (80 x 101 cm) depicting a dance in an arabesque salon, richly detailed and richly figured. Many of his works are listed at auction houses and US antique galleries for tens of thousands of euros.
This unpublished work, undoubtedly attributable to the artist due to its style and signature, is representative of the master's oeuvre. In fact, other works by Fabbi exist that depict the same courtyard, but from different angles.

Shipping will comply with Italian law. The artwork will be carefully packaged in a wooden crate and shipped via Mail Boxes etc. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery.
