This is a wonderful oil on canvas landscape created in the first half of the seventeenth century, as can be seen from the style and the very dense craquelure, as can be seen from the photos.

The dimensions of the painting are important: 159.5cmx126.5cm.

The artist who created it, in addition to being intimately familiar with the works and techniques of Lorrain, a 17th-century painter active in Rome, must have been a skilled artist. This is not a copy, but an original. Its style strongly resembles the works of the Lorraine artist, especially the aforementioned artist's "Landscape with Tobias and the Angel." Indeed, this painting also features the typical atmosphere of a sunset, along with a majestic pine tree and a tower in the background.

Claude Lorrain (1600-1682) was one of the greatest landscape painters of the seventeenth century and is known for his pictorial research on the atmospheres of the various hours of the day within the Lazio landscapes.

The edges have been reinforced with strip lining, which is also visible in the photographs. The work is in good condition, with some retouching. The stretcher is not original, but it is sturdy.

This is a painting of undoubted value, and it is certainly a very pleasant work to see.

The painting will be carefully packaged and shipped via Mail Boxes etc.

It cannot be shipped outside the European Union.

A certificate of authenticity is issued. The work is of legitimate provenance.
